Magnetic Brush Developer

A magnetic brush developer includes a metal roll to which a development electrode bias voltage is applied. This roll is driven by a metal chain which cooperates with a metal drive sprocket, mounted to one end of the roll. The drive sprocket is electrically isolated from the roll.

The roll includes a metal shaft, not shown which is received in bore 10. This bore is defined by metal hub 11, ha four 90OE-spaced lugs 12 formed therein. Metal sprocket 13 likewise has four lugs 14 which are positioned between lugs
12.

Metal members 11 and 13 are bonded into a single unit by electrically non- conductive, rigid material 15. This material may be an injection molded nylon, for example.

A set screw, in bore 16, is used to mount the assembly to the shaft.

As will be appreciated, hub 11 and sprocket 13 could contain 2, 3 or 4 lugs and yet function as described.
