Abstract

In a floppy disk drive, the circuit card on which the spindle motor is mounted includes a number of sensors, such as the diskette-present sensor, the write-protect sensor and the track-zero sensor. These sensors are accurately located with respect to the frame of the disk drive by providing a rotational card locator on the frame.

Floppy Disk Drive

In a floppy disk drive, the circuit card on which the spindle motor is mounted includes a number of sensors, such as the diskette-present sensor, the write- protect sensor and the track-zero sensor. These sensors are accurately located with respect to the frame of the disk drive by providing a rotational card locator on the frame.

Card 10 carries spindle motor 11. This flat card is located within a generally square cavity of the disk drive's frame (not shown). The frame carries a rotatable stop 12 which, when rotated, moves card 10 slightly, rotating the card generally about the center of rotation 13 of the spindle motor. This movement achieves fine and accurate adjustment of the various sensors (not shown) which are carried by the card.
