Abstract

A technique is described whereby managing of storage control hardware for computer systems, such as the IBM Series/1 equipped with extended addressing capabilities, provides for a set of programming instructions so as to support storage control facilities such as formats for setting and copying segmentation registers. SET/COPY Segmentation register instructions are redefined for systems operating in extended addressing mode so as to provide support for the storage facilities. The formats in Fig. 1 and 2 below are used by address space management programs.
