Abstract

In a business machine printer, an alignment slot in the ribbon cartridge together with two locator ribs on the base facilitate the insertion of the cartridge by positioning it directly above retaining snaps which are not visible during insertion. The figure shows the essentials of the present embodiment. Ribbon cartridge 1 is provided with alignment slot 2. Base 3 is provided with locator ribs 4 and 5 and two retaining snaps 6. It is readily seen that cartridge 1 is accurately positioned above retaining snaps 6 by placing the cartridge against the locator ribs with slot 2 aligned with rib 4. Cartridge insertion is completed by pressing it down onto retaining snaps 6.
