Abstract

An asymmetrical service processor arrangement that allots a minor portion of storage on each side of the multiprocessor power boundary partition to the other side will allow system operation in case of failure of one of the service processors. One service processor has access to both sides and controls the common functions that are shared. The second service processor acts as a backup in case of failure of the online service processor.
