Abstract

This enhancement to the PROFS Program Product allows the scheduler of a meeting to identify the persons blocking the scheduling of a meeting and exclude those users, if necessary. When using the function of searching calendars to find a free time when all meeting invitees are available to attend, a conflict may occur in which no free times are found to be available. In the previous calendar certain names were flagged as being unavailable to attend the meeting. In order to include these names in an expanded search (larger date range, for example), the user names had to be retyped. With this enhancement names which are found to be unavailable are highlighted, and if the user requests another search in which the dates are expanded, these users are again included in that search for free time.

Highlight Users Blocking the Meeting When Searching

Thus, the user does not accidentally drop names from the list by changing the date range but forgetting to re-key the names. He must purposefully drop the highlighted names from the list to schedule the meeting anyway. Because of this enhancement the user saves time by not having to type information more than once if an individual is blocking the scheduling of a meeting.
