Abstract

This application allows a user to view an individual's calendar while scheduling a meeting in the calendar function of the PROFS Program Product. Because the calendar function checks the requested attendees schedules when scheduling a meeting, at times a conflict can arise. If the user wishes to schedule the meeting at that time anyway, he may need more information about the individual who is blocking the meeting. While in the group scheduling function of the electronic calendar, the user may request to view an individual's calendar for the time period specified in the search arguments. This is useful for a variety of reasons: 1) The user may wish to view certain calendars to help in determining when is the best meeting time to be scheduled.

View Single Calendar During Group Scheduling

This application allows a user to view an individual's calendar while scheduling a meeting in the calendar function of the PROFS Program Product. Because the calendar function checks the requested attendees schedules when scheduling a meeting, at times a conflict can arise. If the user wishes to schedule the meeting at that time anyway, he may need more information about the individual who is blocking the meeting. While in the group scheduling function of the electronic calendar, the user may request to view an individual's calendar for the time period specified in the search arguments. This is useful for a variety of reasons:
1) The user may wish to view certain calendars to help in determining when is the best meeting time to be scheduled. 2) The calendar of a user who is found to be blocking the scheduling of a meeting may be viewed in order to determine if that individual should be scheduled for the meeting anyway. 3) One may wish to determine if the search arguments should be expanded and the schedules searched again for an available block of time. With this enhancement a user who enters the calendar function can remain in that function and still gain information needed to complete the scheduling process.
