Abstract

A high coercivity, floppy disk, magnetic recording medium contains ferromagnetic chromium dioxide as the magnetic parti two thermoplastic polyester polyurethanes as the binder, a soybean lecithin as the particle dispersant, and two lubricants which are not miscible but are soluble in the solvents used in the coating formulation. The two internal lubricants allow the disks to be used without topical lubrication. Butoxyethyl stearate and polymethyl-trifluoropropyl siloxane with trimethyl siloxane end groups are the preferred lubricants.
