A method of removing all traces of zinc oxide from a copper base foil, without adversely affecting the copper layer, is accomplished by the following proc

An etchant consisting of 21.5% of Sodium Persulfate salt, 7.1 % of an 85% reagent grade of phosphoric acid, and 0.02% of a 26% reagent grade Mercuric chloride are placed in a solution of water (water comprises 71.38% of the solution). The etchant is applied in a processing machine of choice to remove the zinc oxide.
