Method for Propagating Hierarchical Activity Terminal Characteristics

A method is described which provides varying virtual terminal characteristics to be easily propagated from one acti to another.

Since virtual terminals are allocated with a set of default characteristics, a user who wishes to run several terminals with varying characteristics must set the virtual terminal characteristics each time an activity is created.

In accordance with the new method, the user's current terminal characteristics are propagated to the new activity's terminal upon creation, rather than use the default characteristics. The user may then execute in several terminal environments without having to change the environment each time an activity is created but only once in each environment's parent activity.
