A method is described that allows the user to capitalize on information that the system knows and provides more function to screen design. The method remains consistent with the rest of screen development.

The system knows information regarding time, date and page number. The user needs some method of obtaining this information from the system and displaying it on a screen that is being created so that this information is always current when the screen is used.

In accordance with the new method, when a user marks a point while creating a screen, the window that appears includes the ability to indicate that the marked point is where time, date or page number should appear.
