Abstract

Shown is a printing head which draws oversized paper replicas of a design by movement of the writing head 1 over the surface of the paper 2 by means of X-Y co-ordinate controls, such as a Gerber plotter, not shown, in a manner similar to conventional program light tables. The inking is accomplished by means of an air driven nozzle 3 which delivers ink to the paper through selectable aperture plate 4. A solenoid/piston means 5 is provided for controlling the ON-OFF flow of the ink to the paper. Additional solenoid/piston units 6 and 7 are provided with additional solvent nozzles 8 and 9 which supply air and solvent to the aperture area for cleaning. A splash shield and gutter unit 10 collects excess ink and solvent.
