Abstract

Molecular iodine dissolved in a solvent such as pyrridine, wherein silver iodide is soluble, will serve as an improved etchant system for metallic silver. The etch rate may be moderated through the addition of hexane. This etchant is mild with respect to its attack on photoresist.
