Abstract

This description is directed to a keyboard impact feedback suitable for use with elastic diaphragm keyboard switches. A solenoid is placed on the opposite side of the elastic diaphragm support plate. When the using system acknowledges a key depression, the solenoid is activated causing the plunger to hit the support plate. This impact is transmitted through the support plate and the elastic diaphragm switch overlay to the finger of the operator. In addition, the operator will hear the impact. The amount of energy required is not large, and only one solenoid is required for the entire keyboard.
