Print Ribbon Stripper

This stripper device prevents the adherence of an inked ribbon 10 to a rubber drive roll 12 due to the force exerted by a pressure roll 14.

The device comprises a stripper blade 16 which extends into a slot 12a provided near the center of drive roll 12. The end of blade 16 is shaped so that its stripper edge is recessed slightly below the outer diameter of roll 12, and this prevents ribbon 10 from making its way between the roll and blade 16. The blade peels ribbon 10 from roll 12 at a small angle to the outer surface of the roll as it rotates to separate the ribbon and prevent the ribbon from wrapping around the roll and/or bunching up on top of the blade.
