Pass Book for Disk Printer

This is a split-platen for printers or the like which compensates for variations in the thickness that may exist between the two slides of a bound document, such as a book. This construction will allow a print operation to be performed along a print line extending along both sides of the book.

The device includes two selectively movable independent plates 1 mounted on a common frame. The two plates are independently biased by springs 2 against the opposite covers of the book 3. Each plate has fixed thereto a print line leveling bar 4 which press each side of the book against two aligning rollers 5, defining a print line reference level, mounted on the printer carriage 6 to move therewith.
