Internal Scoping Aid

A template slidably mounted on the edges of a circuit card permits accurate alignment of a test probe with a card point and retains the probe in position for hands-off testing or scoping.

Circuit card 10 has a multiplicity of modules 11 mounted on one side with interconnecting circuit points, not shown, on the other side. Template 12 of durable insulating material slides over the card edges, as shown. A series of holes through 12, such as 13, extend the width of the card and are arranged so that they can be located over any of the circuit points on 10 by sliding. 12.

Probe 14 has a shoulder 15 (shown enlarged for clarity) which fits snugly in any hole in 12 so as to be held in place. The probe tip 16 effects contact with the circuit point and can be left in place by the action of 15. The end face of probe 14 against the surface of 12 can assist retention of 14 in place.
