A photoelectrophoretic imaging process is know wherein a layer of a suspension of light-absorbing particles between a transparent injecting electrode and a blocking electrode, in the form of a roller, is subjected to an electric field and a light image through the transparent substrate.

A photoelectrophoretic imaging process is know wherein a layer of a suspension of light-absorbing particles between a transparent injecting electrode and a blocking electrode, in the form of a roller, is subjected to an electric field and a light image through the transparent substrate.

It has been found that by employing a flat blocking electrode and electrostatically charging this electrode with a corona discharging device while simultaneously exposing the suspension through the transparent electrode to a light image, high quality particle images are formed with a single exposure step.

In addition, it has further been found that the transparent electrode can be replaced with an insulating layer and a corona discharge device, whereby the two electrodes in the known process are replaced with a dual-corona discharge device.
