Hand Held Document Card Punch

This punch permits the perforation of a document card 10 in any of tiers by grasping and moving together grips 12 and 14 after having moved a code disk 16 to the desired rotative position, with the document card being held in drum 18.

Grip 12 is pivotally mounted with respect to an inner frame member 20 at pivot screw 22 and grip 14 is fixed onto frame member

Member 20 carries a plurality of punches 28 adapted to enter into corresponding openings 3O provided in grip 12. Return spring 32 is provided for yieldably holding grips 12 and 14 in the illustrated position in which all of punches 28 are withdrawn from openings 30.

Card drum 18 is rotatably mounted on grip 12 by stud 31 and includes a half funnel-shaped slot 3 which narrows down to an opening only slightly larger than the thickness of card 10. Card 10 may be punched in any of three tiers 1, 2, and 3, not shown; and pin receiving slots 38 and 40 are respectively provided in drum 18 for registering card 10 for respectively punching in tiers 2 and 3.
