Abstract

Thin feathered edges 1 are formed on a small, round contact pin 2 by swaging them in a lathe collet 3. The collet is relieved as at 4 to permit forming of the feathered edge with a minimum amount of elongation of the pin. Due to the reliefs in the hole bearing surface of the collet, the jaws will only pinch the pin in the areas where the feathered edges are to be formed.
