Abstract

This radiation transmission gauge consists of a plurality of plate-like interconnected structures for positioning and securing the radiation source, the sample to be measured and the radiation detector. The assembly 1, supported on legs 2, includes eight plates 3 through 10 secured by suitable means. The plates are formed as shown from different materials such as steel for the base and supporting structure and high-density tungsten for shielding and aperture plates. Design modifications can be made to the plates to accommodate a variety of functions. A drawer 11 allows samples to be placed in the holder. When united, the integral structure can form interconnected, internal chambers and contours which may not be otherwise fabricatable.
