Unitary Self Locking Fold Up Corner Support

By placing scores and die cuts in a unitary corrugated pad, a triangular structured corner support is formed and held together without additional elements. The corner support envelopes a rectangular object and prevents its lateral movement within a larger container.

Pad 11 is cut, as depicted in A, and folded along dotted lines into the shape depicted in B. Flaps 13 and 15 are inserted into slots 17 and 19, respectively, and triangular flaps 21 and 23 are bent upward to rest against flaps 13 and 15. Rectangular portions 25 and 27 are located at right angles to one another and receive edge 29 of rectangular unit 31. Flap 21 is supported by side surface 33 to prevent lateral movement of unit 31 within a larger container.
