Extending the Useful Life of FREON T WD 602

In cleaning processes utilizing FREON* T-WD 602 solvent (hereafter called FREON) for reconditioning used business machines, it has been found that by maintaining a constant volume of liquid FREON, the life of the FREON may be increased by at least 200%.

In the normal process, FREON is used to remove water from the surfaces of washed machines by immersing the machine in FREON. After a certain number of machines have been dipped into FREON, it is necessary to remove water build-up and restore the drying powers of the solution. This is accomplished by a salting operation, after which the FREON shows a slight volume drop as compared to its original unused volume. At this point, and again after each successive salting operation, volume make-up is carried out to preserve constant liquid volume and achieve the unusual increase in solution life noted above. * Trademark of E.
