Kickerless Beltless Exit Pocket

This apparatus relates to mechanism for feeding fused copy sheets upwardly into an exit pocket.

After the copy sheet CS is fused, it is fed such that the leading edge is engaged by the knurled power roller 1 and the grooved pinch rollers 2 and biases the eject spring 5 in a direction away from the paper tray or exit pocket 4. The respective rollers 1 and 2 then feed the paper so that the leading edge hits the guide wire 3 and is deflected toward the paper tray 4. When the trailing edge of the paper clears the rollers pinch point, the beam strength of the paper tends to snap the trailing edge into the tray. The eject spring 5 also assists in deflecting the trailing edge into the tray 4 as it leaves the pinch point.
