Abstract

A double pull air flow arrangement is provided in which air enters the gate 10 at the opening 12 located at the mid-point of the gate instead of at the bottom of the gate. There may also be a secondary air inlet opening 14 in each of the adjustable covers 16 for local air flow control. It can be seen from the figure that the path the air must travel is essentially half a gate. That is, the air enters the gate 10 at the opening 12 in the middle of the gate and divides for flow through each half of the gate. Some of the air flows upward because of the pull of the top blower 18 and some of the air flows downward because of the pull of the bottom blower 20.

Some of the air flows upward because of the pull of the top blower 18 and some of the air flows downward because of the pull of the bottom blower 20. It will be appreciated that the overall temperature differential Delta T which would ordinarily exist in a push-pull arrangement from the bottom to the top of the gate is actually cut in half, so that we will have a Delta T from the middle to the bottom of the gate and a Delta T from the middle to the top of the gate. Since the air is coming through the middle of the gate 10 rather than entering at the bottom, the overall air is much cleaner.
