Manual Pocket Punch

Shown is a manual portable card punching device. The device comprises a base 10 including a dove-tail slide 11, in which is slidably mounted a punch 12. The punch includes a window 13 which registers with indicia 14 on the slide for indicating the position of the punch 12 relative to rows in a punch card 15, which is inserted into the device intermediate the base and the slide (see Fig. 2).

As illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2, to insure proper registration of the punch 12 with the underlying punch card a detent 16, comprising a vleir biased ball 17A in the punch 12, cooperates with individual dished portions 17B in the slide 11. In order to hold the punch card in proper relation to the base and slide, a card holder 20, having a clip 21 into which the card is placed, is positioned underlying the base 10 and slidably mounted at right angles to the longitudinal axis thereof. The card holder 20 contains a central slot 22 which rides along the shoulder of a chamfered screw 23 mounted at one end of a leaf spring 24 that is fastened to the base 10. The holder 20 contains a detent 25 comprising recesses 26A registering with a ball 26B, the recesses being spaced apart and corresponding to the column spacing in the card. To insure proper columnar registratio...
