Abstract

This is a cathode-ray tube assembly which is sealed for safety reasons. The funnel portion 14 of the cathode-ray 10 is embraced by an implosion safety shroud 18. The shroud also includes a power supply chamber 22 covering the high-voltage portions of the power supply, which includes circuit card 28 with transformer 30, capacitors 40, 42, diodes 44, 46, 48 and bleeder resistance 50, and portions 74 and 76 covering the anode cable 68 and the high-voltage connector 70, respectively. The whole assembly is a unitary encapsulated module whereby users and service personnel are protected from high-voltage electrical shock, as well as from danger of implosion.
