Plastic Microsyringe

This plastic microsyringe dispenses accurately measured drops of liquids which attack the normal glass metering syringes.

A TEFLON* tip 1 is press fitted into a lucite or TEFLON body 2. 0-rings 3 seal plunger 4 into the bore of the syringe body. Pin 5 holds the plunger on the shaft of micrometer barrel 7. The syringe body is a slip fit on the micrometer barrel and held in place by pressure from clamp 6.

Filling is accomplished by submerging the tip in solution and turning the micrometer barrel to withdraw the plunger. Typically with a 9.5 mm bore, one small division on the micrometer barrel is equal to a 2 ul drop size. * Trademark of E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Co.
