Sheet Stacker

A sheet stacker for stacking sheets in proper sequence utilizes a kicker arm to invert preselected sheets.

Sheets are fed from copy drum 11 to sheet transport 13 in order to be stacked in hopper 15. It is desirous to stack copy sheets containing printing on one side of the sheet in hopper 15 with the printed side down. Sheets containing printing on each side should be stacked with the last side printed face up. Single-sided sheets are thus fed over continuous transport 13 into hopper 15, as noted by arrows 17 and 19. Double-sided sheets are fed over transport 13 to the position of the copy sheet 21. Kicker arm 23 moves from its solid line position to its dotted line position, moving the copy sheet 21 to the position of copy sheet 25. The copy sheet is then fed over transport 13, in the direction-of arrow 19, to the hopper 15.
