Table

The table (Figs. 1 and 2) includes table top 10 of sheet metal supported by corrugated sheet metal member 12 for providing maximum internal table height, while yet providing great strength.

The table comprises four posts 14 which may be hollow, as shown, or may be of U-shaped cross section, for example; and posts 14 on the two ends of the table are connected by cross members 16 which may be U-shaped in cross section. Corrugated member 12 is fixed on cross members 16 by any suitable means, such as by welding. Angles 18 extend longitudinally of the table and connect the posts 14 on the two opposite ends of the table. Top 10 has a downwardly depending outer flange 10a which encompasses posts 14 and angles 18, and top 10 may be glued or welded to corrugated member 12. In lieu of angles 18, members similar to members 16 could be substituted.

The Fig. 3 embodiment is the same as that of Figs. 1 and 2 except that angles 18a are slightly moved with respect to angles 18, and cover 10 has a shorter downwardly extending flange 10b. A cover 20 of sheet metal fits beneath the lower edges of flange 10b. The Fig. 4 embodiment dispenses with angles 18 and 18a, and has the downwardly depending flange 10b extending into recesses 14a of posts 14. Cover 20a abuts against flange 10b in this embodiment.
