Abstract

The surface temperature of a heated, rotating roll 10 is sensed by thermistor 11 which controls suitable heating circuitry, not shown. Graphite shoe 12 is urged by spring 13 against roll 10 to efficiently conduct heat to thermistor 11, without marking the surface of roll 10 and without appreciable wearing away of the graphite material 12.
