Abstract

A damper 2 is provided for tension spring 3, by cutting a section of spiral cable wrap to the operating length of the spring. The inner diameter of cable wrap 2 is selected to cause an interference fit with the outside diameter of spring 3 during all conditions of operation, thereby maintaining friction between the inner surface 4 of the cable wrap and spring 3 which damps out vibrations.
