Abstract

A three-piece snap-together spool is described. Two identical flanged parts 10 and 11 each have mating hub-forming portions 13 and 14. A resilient molded split sleeve 15 snaps over portions 13 and 14 for pressing the portions together, such that the interfering surfaces A are firmly secured. Each portion 13 and 14 has an outwardly opening groove 17, one of which is aligned with the split in sleeve 15. To complete the assembly, web 16 is inserted through the slit in sleeve 15. After the web is inserted into a groove 17, sleeve 15 is rotated pulling the web to a secure locking position, as shown in Fig. 3. Web 16 may then be wound about split sleeve 15.
