Abstract

This printer is arranged for simultaneously printing human readable dot matrix and retrospective pulse modulation (RPM) bar coding characters. A conventional matrix print assembly head 10 of the seven-wire variety is arranged to carry a bar coding print head 20. The bar coding print head 20 comprises a single blade of 0.3 inch height and 0.008 inch width.

Alpha Delta Printer for Matrix Printing & Bar Coding

This printer is arranged for simultaneously printing human readable dot matrix and retrospective pulse modulation (RPM) bar coding characters. A conventional matrix print assembly head 10 of the seven-wire variety is arranged to carry a bar coding print head 20. The bar coding print head 20 comprises a single blade of 0.3 inch height and 0.008 inch width.

A stepping motor (not shown) traverses the head assembly in 0.008 inch steps, whereby bars of single or double width are printed as required. Timing pulses are obtained from an emitter (not shown) directly driven by the stepping motor shaft, for keying the accompanying logic circuitry which actuates both printing heads.
