Abstract

This is a mechanical arrangement for reducing fan motion of edge mounted socket connected printed circuit boards 1 and is especially suitable where the boards are of varying height 2, 3. The arrangement comprises a rigid card cover assembly 4 mechanically engaging the unrestrained edge of each card) An extruded member 5 affixed to the cover assembly 4 extends outward to engage the cards 2 of smaller height. A foam pad 6 forms a resilient energy absorbant medium analogous to a rubber washer. The foam pad is wedge inserted between the unrestrained card edge and the cover assembly.
