The clamping mechanism, which includes two washers 1 and 2 totally enclosed in a plastic hub 6 and encircling shaft 10, tightly fixes hub 6 onto shaft
10.

Washers 1 and 2, connected by screw 3, are disposed in recesses 11 and 12 in hub 6, and rest on edges 4 and 5 at the bottoms of recesses 11 and 12. When screw 3 is tightened, washers 1 and 2 bow against their own resilience and skew with respect to the longitudinal axis of shaft 10; and they press on edges 4 and 5 so as to wedge on the outer surface of shaft 10 and clamp hub 6 onto shaft
10. Since washers 1 and 2 are on both sides of hub 6 and are clamped at the same time, hub 6 does not tend to move axially on shaft 10 when screw 3 is tightened. Since hub 6 is made of plastic, recesses 11 and 12, including edges 4 and 5, may be molded in hub 6. Hub 6 can also be made of any other easily molded material, such as sintered metal.
