Abstract

A coil is formed from a flat-flexible substrate 10, having conductive leads 11 and 12 printed on both sides of the substrate in a horizontal zigzag row around the openings 13, as shown. The substrate is folded on the vertical dashed lines in an accordion-like manner so that each pair of leads forms one bifilar coil. These coils are adapted for use in multielement magnetic heads. Alternatively, the leads are printed on one side of the substrate which is then folded in half.
