Protective Film for Circuit Lands

Photoresists are effective to maintain copper circuit lands in a readily solderable condition without need of preliminary cleaning prior to soldering.

Land surfaces so protected are kept clean and free of oxides by a photoresist, such as AZ-111* and this resist can be left in place until soldering is actually done. The protective film is removed by the application of flux and passage of the substrate over a solder wave, eliminating any need for prior removal of the photoresist. * Product of Shipley Co., Inc. of Newton, Mass.
