Feedback Cell for Large Scale Integration

A special cell is added to large scale integrated circuit chips for feedback loop connections. Use of this cell enables the logic on a chip to be made combinatorial to facilitate DC and AC testing.

Normal logic cells 1, 2 include AND-Invert logic. The special cell includes ORs 3, 4, having plural inputs. One of these inputs 5, 6 is coupled to a feedback loop. The other input 7, 8 is connected in common to control pin 9.

When a binary "1" value is applied to control pin 9, the logic in cells 1 and 2 are caused to be combinatorial as the binary state of a feedback loop will not affect any circuit output. When a logical "0" value is applied to control pin 9, the logic in cells 1 and 2 operates in a normal mode.
