Abstract

Electrophotographic apparatus is shown, in which a bucket conveyor 10 is provided to transport developer material from the bottom of the developer unit to an upper chute member 12. Chute member 12 is positioned to convey the developer to a hopper 14, which deposits the developer material on the surface of drum 16 so that a latent electrostatic image on drum 16 is developed. As shown in Fig. 2, chute member 12 has a bifurcated opening, so that developer moving into the left side of the chute is transported by an upper chute 16 to the right of hopper 14. Conversely, the developer material which enters the right-hand side of the chute is conveyed by lower chute 18 to the left side of hopper 14. This apparatus provides a crossmixing of the developer so that uniform density images are produced.
