Abstract

When bound volume V has pages P with margin M close to binding B, M is poorly copied by some copiers. In Fig. 1, wedge W with triangular cross-section has optical fibers F made to be perpendicular to M being copied and to glass copier surface S. M is brought into focus at S, which the copier scans. Pressure PR on the back of V with W in place, conforms P to W to project data from M onto S. Fig. 1 shows W set centrally of V. Fig. 2 shows W inserted near an end of V. Soft strip SS (e.g. foam plastic) between rigid cover R of V and a few pages P' of V, helps hold M of P' being copied against W. Fig. 3 shows W's complete assembly. When S is curved, the bottom of W can be curved. W is chained to a copier for all users.
