Abstract

A tin anodization process, wherein a tin coated part immersed in a bath interacts anodically with a cathode, is enhanced by providing an anodized tin deposit over the commonly used stainless steel cathode. The cathode may be the surface of the container which holds the bath. It may be prepared by successively depositing tin on the basic stainless steel substrate and anodizing the tin deposit. Experimental observation indicates that anodization efficiency is considerably enhanced by such anodized cathodes.
