This paper locating and retaining device provides an unobstructed drawing surface, while retaining the drawing sheet without adhesive tape.

The present device 10 is located in cavity 11 of a drawing board 12. The device 10 is constructed of a resilient material and, as shown in Fig. 2, it is positioned such that the edges 13 are parallel to the board edge. This permits automatic alignment of sheet 14 to board 12. Depression of device 10, as shown in Fig. 1, allows a sheet to be accurately affixed to the board. Gripper toes 15 retain the sheet upon release of the gripping device 10.

The underside of the toes 15 are roughed to enhance holding. A front view of the entire structure is shown in Fig. 3.
