Abstract

The illustrated circuit has been successfully used as a photodiode amplifier. Connecting the photodiode across both inputs of the operational amplifier and returning one of the amplifier inputs to ground via resistor R2, provides both common mode rejection and bias current compensation for the case where R2 = R1. The photodiode may be connected with either polarity, depending on the desired polarity of the output voltage Vo.
