Phase Shift Generator

Signals on a data control line may occur at any one of a number of selectable times.

A clock generates signals on sixteen clock lines one after another. A program control selects any one of these clock signals by opening the corresponding one of sixteen AND gates, to place the selected signal on the data control line.

In one application, nine identical circuits are connected to a single clock for providing nine parallel signals on nine data control lines, simulating magnetic tape data available to a tape drive. Similarly, different numbers of lines may be used, for example. to simulate control signals between a tape drive and a control unit.
