Abstract

An inexpensive slide switch comprises a plastic track member 1, in which are mounted a number of reed switches 2 corresponding to the desired number of poles in the switch. A channel is formed in the track member to accommodate a knob assembly 3, which carries a small magnet 4 for actuating the reed switches. The channel is notched to cooperate with a spring 5 on the knob assembly, to provide positive location of the magnet opposite a selected reed switch. When mounted in its operating position, the setting of the switch can be indicated by a pointer 6 in cooperation with legend associated with each reed switch.
