Abstract

As shown, this latch has two control lines for either gating data into the latch or resetting the latch. When resetting the latch, the set line is raised to ground which turns OFF devices P6 and P7 and turns ON device N7. When devices P6 and P7 are OFF, the latch is written into through N7 independent of the gate data in, data in, and data-in lines. In this manner, this latch is reset dominant. With the set line at -V (normal), data is written into the latch by lowering the gate data-in line to -V. While gating data in, P5, P6 and P7 are ON, and N5, N6 and N7 are OFF. The state of the latch is determined by P3, P4, N3 and N4. In the latch state, N1, N2, P1, and P2 latch the data with N5, N6, P7 and P6 conducting, with P5 being OFF.
