Abstract

Shown is a compact continuous steam generator in which a pressure regulator and a needle valve are used to provide a constant flow of deionized (D.I.) water into a quartz tube, of the steam generator. The quartz tube is helically mounted about a heater element of about 250 W capacity and power regulated by a thermocouple controller, to maintain a constant temperature up to 500 degrees C. This system provides a continuous and constant flow of steam from a water-to-steam flow loop, which is fully self-contained to insure cleanliness. The steam generator is preferably insulated to maintain a constant temperature and for safety.
