Abstract

The uneconomic practice of wasting areas of material as a result of producing flexible seals to their application profile by blanking, cutting or punching is greatly improved by changing the profile as shown, for example, in Fig. 1 or Fig. 2. Such seals are usually located in guide grooves which dictate their shape in use, and so the profile in which the material is cut is unimportant.
