Belt Drive Roll Stock Feed

This rollstock feeding arrangement accommodates any size roll of stock without adjustment and is readily loaded.

A roll of stock 12 rests on two belts 14, 16, which ride on pulleys 18, 20, 22. The pulley and belt system is driven through a shaft 24. A motor with gear box drives the shaft 24 through a belt, not shown. A switch 26 controls the motor which drives shaft 24. A thin spring leaf 28 underlies the ticket stock. Drive capstans, not shown, drive the ticket stock through a processing unit 30. When more stock is needed, the switch 26 is operated and more stock is driven out.

With this arrangement a narrow range of speed is sufficient because the feed rate is substantially constant; it is just a bit faster than the capstan drive.
